I would like to say that we have more progress going on in our farmhouse, but with my hubby’s work week, our front room project is on hold. He was able to pick up our bead board for the ceiling and also our shiplap for the walls before his work week began. Thankful that I am more about “Progress Over Perfection” these days because I finally came to the realization several years ago that we are all a work in progress and we should just embrace the season in life that we are in. Amen?!
We went ahead and purchased the real deal from a local supplier rather than the big boxed stores. We figured that since the front room is the only original room in the farmhouse, we wanted to use real shiplap and save the cheaper look-a-likes for any future remodeling projects. I can’t wait to see these babies installed.
Still debating on which colors to paint and which brands to go with. I think we have narrowed it down to Sherwin Williams vs Benamin Moore. They seem to be the best options these days. Just wish that the best options didn’t mean the most costly. (sigh)
YELLOW PINE
We decided that we would go ahead and remove the old bead board on the stair wall and replace it with the new yellow pine shiplap. Which by the way is a bit more expensive than the regular pine. It doesn’t have as many knots and seems like a hardier board, but just keep the price in mind if you decide to go with the real deal for your home. I think it’s going to look fabulous and welcome our future guests nicely. Not to mention be a cozy space for the whole family to enjoy. I can’t wait to share the progress with you. Hope you have a terrific Saturday and thanks for following along.
Until next time,
Isaiah 26:3-4
