Simple and Creative Gift Idea with a Purpose

(source)

Are you still looking for that perfect gift or stocking stuffer? Well, do I have a treat for you! I have partnered with A Makers’ Studio by Amy Howard to provide unique and creative supplies and products to help inspire and encourage you to plug into your creative side. Hooray!

Believe it or not, being creative and plugging into a strong & encouraging community of like-minded friends can make a positive impact on your health and your life. Creativity is one of the 12 primary foods that I teach in my holistic health coaching practice. These are the areas that infuse joy and satisfaction into our lives that are not found on our plates and often go unnoticed, until their imbalance manifests in the way of chronic symptoms and disease.

God, Himself loves to create such amazing and beautiful creations! Hello, just look in the mirror!  (wink)  Is it a wonder why we get a sense of accomplishment when we are able to take something old and make something new? Or when we take something that was once considered trash, only to breathe new life into it. Sound familiar? You get the idea!  It is natural to want to be around beautiful and inviting spaces.  Not just visually appealing, but in all the senses (touch, taste, smell, sound) of the word.  (pun intended)

I LOVE being creative and I have made A LOT of things in my life time. I love knitting, crocheting, sewing, restoring furniture, and just anything DIY, really. Especially the times that I was able to do these fun past projects with family and friends, but there was a time in my life that the busyness of everything going on in the hollow, took center stage and sadly my creativity took a back seat. During my battle with cancer was one of those times, obviously. Once I took a leap of faith and began to tap into my creative side again through sharing here on social media, I began to feel more encouraged and less stressed about the little things. Does that make sense? Don’t get me wrong, there are still things that need to be taken care of and I still have obligations and commitments that need addressing, but now I try to make time to create and share my creativity with others. (smile)

This leads me to this amazing company and the mission they are on. They go beyond making “pretty things” for the home, they are using their talents, passion and business to help encourage and serve others. At A Makers’ Studio (AMS), they work with women who have left human trafficking and are ready to begin a new chapter in their lives. It is challenging for these women to find meaningful work, so AMS helps provide them this opportunity by training them as artisanal candle makers. Each time you purchase a RE•NEW•ALL candle for your own home or as a gift to someone you care about, you are giving the gift of restoration and hope to one of these women. What a meaningful gift idea this could be and not just for the holidays. These are great for birthdays, anniversaries and as hostess or housewarming gifts. They are handmade right here in the great state of TN, non-toxic (you know that I like that) and are made with natural soy wax and a cotton wick.  The cost includes shipping, lovely packaging and signed by the woman who is being rescued and restored by your purchase.  It’s a great deal and a powerful cause!  Order by December 18th to receive your candle by Christmas.  Hope you’ll give them a try.

Until next time, keep shining!
